About Us

What is Middle East Model United Nations?

Middle East Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly’s various committees. Students learn leadership skills through the art of diplomacy and international relations.

Students role play and act as delegates to help solve the world’s most pressing issues from environmental sustainability, globalization, poverty, healthcare and economy universally shared human and environmental challenges.

The students learn cooperation and the art of compromise. On the first day of the conference a child was being more of a tough negotiator and didn’t really want to compromise. After three days of training under the Middle East MUN, that same child learned that cooperation and compromise are much more effective in reaching consensus and his country’s goals. Cooperation was learned through the Middle East Model UN process, and success was tangible as the delegate was able to accomplish a lot more in committee and get much more support on his ideas.

The Experience of Middle East Model United Nations

Middle East MUN is an exciting opportunity for students to debate issues that confront world leaders and to draft resolutions in response to these global issues. Participants will develop their abilities to work with others who are equally motivated and passionate about the topics of debate and to respond to global concerns. The youth are inspired to become true global citizens as:

They acquire research, inquiry and problem solving skills.
They learn to present, debate, negotiate, compromise, and collaborate in finding peaceful solutions.
They learn acceptance and respect to all nations and reach out to a shared vision of a better future.

Middle East Volunteer Program

Middle East MUN is currently seeking volunteers to assist our Conference Service team at the Model UN Conferences. The Model UN Program is known for its unique global citizenship curriculum, but it is at the conference where Delegates take on the role of Ambassadors and embark on a path of leadership that will continue for the rest of their lives. Middle East MUN is a one of a kind event and you can help us improve upon its quality and make it even more successful in the years to come.

Middle East MUN Volunteers have the opportunity to interact with participants from around the world and serve as role models for youth ages 9 through 16. Volunteers also help us make the MUN experience welcoming, fun, and remarkable. A Volunteer’s time will have a significant impact on the success of the conference.
